I'm sure SKII Facial Treatment Essence ain't foreign to many of you girls, especially when we are pretty exposed to various media platforms such as TV advertising, print ads as well as social media. Like me, I dare say that you have either heard about how wonderful or even miraculous and maybe some horror tales about it from your mom, aunt, colleagues or friends.


Like I mentioned, I have heard so much about SKII facial treatment essence - some swears by it while some of them hated it. I even heard there's this lady whom claims that her skin was over-reliant on SKII facial treatment essence and that her skin took turn for the worse when she stopped using SKII. But all that taunting didn't stopped me from trying SKII facial treatment essence out.

I know a lot of people don't like the scent. I wouldn't exactly say that it smells good since it reminds me of something fermented.

You know how everyone is talking about having translucent skin (like a freshly peeled hard boiled egg)? A lot of times I'm like, "how can that be possible?" with a frown on my head. The mystery is solved - yes I did see that my skin became more translucent after a week of continuous use of SKII facial treatment essence.

Brightening wise, I think it does a little but I thought it helped to even out my skin tone more.

You won't need a lot of SKII facial treatment essence at one go, I usually use about 3-4 drops for my entire face and neck. Personally, I prefer to apply SKII facial treatment essence with a cotton pad. I think that it works better this way.

On lazy days when I reach home late, I go without moisturizer (not advisable) but I still wake up having plump skin (don't feel tight or anything).

I was actually have some breakouts sometime back. Normally when I have breakouts, I'll stick to my hydrating skincare routine which consists of cleansing, tone and moisturize with aloe vera gel and try not to include any new products in my skincare routine. I was feeling a little adventurous then and I really want to find out if SKII really makes one breakout so I changed my skincare routine to cleansing with my regular cleanser (Kose Sekkisei White Powder Wash) and follow by toning my face with SKII facial treatment essence. Guess what? Not only did I not breakout further, my breakouts subsided and the redness reduced.

The only downside would probably be the price. If I'm not wrong, its $99 per bottle which ain't exactly wallet-friendly. The most expensive toner that I have bought till date is from Lancôme and if I never remember wrongly, it's about $60+. But then again, I guess for the sake of vanity, $99 is worth it in my case because SKII Facial Treatment Essence worked for me!
